Newsletter signup is handled by MailerLite. The form collects your email address and records subscription and confirmation status. Follow the confirmation email to complete a new subscription. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.

Contacting Side Street or sending a tip does not subscribe you. Compass answers are not used to build a mailing list or target emails.

Email sent to the published domain addresses is received by Purelymail and forwarded to the founder’s Gmail inbox. The sender address, message and attachments are handled by those providers and used to read and respond to your message. Ordinary email is not a confidential drop box.

Newsletter invitation

This browser remembers when you dismiss the newsletter invitation or continue to signup, so it stays hidden for 30 days. This preference is stored locally on your device and does not identify you as a subscriber or send your reading activity to MailerLite.

The housing compass

Answers stay in this tab’s session storage so they survive a refresh. They are not submitted to a server or linked to newsletter signup. Use Clear & start again to remove them. A browser restoring a tab may restore its session data. If you choose to use a browser assistant with the compass, that assistant can access the answers through the tools you use.

Optional website analytics

Google Analytics loads only if you choose Allow analytics. It measures page visits and basic technical information using cookies. Compass answers, scores, party selections, tip drafts and email addresses are never sent to Analytics. Advertising features and automatic form and outbound-link measurement are disabled. Page URLs are sent without query strings or fragments, and referring URLs are reduced to their website origin.

Change analytics preference

You can decline and use the site normally. Your choice is stored on this device. Declining later stops future collection; existing Google cookies can also be removed through your browser settings.

Hosting and external services

Cloudflare hosts the website and may process technical request information to deliver and protect it. Fonts load from Google Fonts. Opening an external link, including the MailerLite signup form, brings you to that provider’s service and privacy practices.
