Where to swim while the Vancouver Aquatic Centre is rebuilt

If the Aquatic Centre was your pool, you’re now fitting a longer trip into your week. Here are the places to start, including Hillcrest’s 50-metre days and a few options on the west side.
For a 50-metre swim, pick your day at Hillcrest
Hillcrest, at 4575 Clancy Loranger Way, has changed its schedule to make room for more swimmers during the closure. Here’s the layout from September 8, 2026:

On Sundays, the diving board and dive tank are scheduled to open from 6 to 7 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. For lengths, check the lane schedule for the time you want to go. More about Hillcrest
Three other pools to try
Depending on where you’re coming from, one of these might be an easier trip. Each pool’s page has its swimming schedule.

| Lord Byng 3990 West 14th Avenue | A 25-metre pool with lap lanes. The City currently reports its accessible pool lift is out of order. Confirm an entry arrangement that works for you if you need the lift. |
| Kerrisdale 5851 West Boulevard | A 30-metre pool with a diving board. Its pool lift is also listed as temporarily unavailable. Use the pool schedule, rather than the community centre’s opening hours. |
| Killarney 6260 Killarney Street | Lap swimming and leisure facilities. From September 9, the lengths pool opens at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, later than the leisure pool. The City warns that peak periods and weekends can mean longer entry waits. |

Looking for lessons?
Lord Byng lists lessons for preschoolers, children and youth. For babies, toddlers or adults, you’ll need to look at another pool for now. You can check dates and spaces through the registration link on Lord Byng’s pool page.
