Background
Hardwick served on Vancouver City Council from 2018 to 2022. Her campaign biography describes a career in film production and the founding of the public-consultation platform PlaceSpeak. She is running for TEAM for a Livable Vancouver.
Published priorities
TEAM’s current planning platform proposes neighbourhood-led planning, protection of older rental buildings, more co-ops and restored parking minimums. It also calls for changes to provincial housing legislation. On September 18, Hardwick released a four-part public safety and recovery plan criticizing ABC's safety plebiscite as a non-binding substitute for action. It proposes zero-tolerance enforcement against open drug use, district-based community policing with a new victims' response standard, a violence-against-women prevention strategy with a City Women's Safety Lead, and sobriety-based recovery homes in place of a low-barrier model.
What we’d like to ask
How many additional homes would the neighbourhood plans allow, how would the party deliver co-ops while protecting existing renters, and how many additional police positions would the safety plan actually fund?
