Background
Sim is Vancouver’s incumbent mayor, elected in 2022. The City biography records his business background as a co-founder of Nurse Next Door and Rosemary Rocksalt. He is seeking another term with ABC Vancouver.
Published priorities
ABC’s September 21 platform pledges a 2027 property-tax freeze, free residential permit parking and removal of paid parking at parks and community centres. It points to community-centre investment in the approved 2027–30 Capital Plan and says a second, family-focused platform section is due September 28. A September 16 Daily Hive review of nine of ABC's 93 promises from 2022 found a mixed record: the 100-officer hiring target was met, the paired 100-nurse target was revised to roughly 57 mental-health workers, and property taxes rose 22.1 per cent over the term.
What we’d like to ask
How would a further tax freeze affect service levels, what spending commitments would the next budget include, and which of the 2026 platform's new promises would be funded the same way as the 2022 promises that fell short?
